Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy (hereinafter "Policy") governs the handling of user personal information in the mobile application "PhotoTrail" (hereinafter "Application") provided by freeweb (hereinafter "Provider"). This Application is available for free use.
1. Types of Information Collected
The Application may collect the following information.
1-1. Information Provided by Users
- Photo Data: URI, filename, creation date, EXIF information (capture date, camera information, etc.) of photos imported or taken by users
- Location Information: Latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy, etc., obtained through GPS when authorized by the user. Collected when taking photos with the camera or manually adding location information.
- Tags & Categories: Tags and category information added by users to photos
- GPX Routes: Travel route data imported by users
- Notes: Note information added by users to photos
- Application Settings: In-app settings such as theme (brightness), language, map style, clustering radius, display settings, etc.
1-2. Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Model, OS version, application version
- Usage Data: Usage time, access frequency, screen transitions, feature usage, etc.
- Advertising Identifiers: Identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID) for banner ad delivery and measurement via AdMob
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: Data collected via cookies and similar technologies through Google Analytics 4 and AdMob
2. Purposes of Information Collection
Information collected by the Application is used for the following purposes.
- Application Improvement: To enhance user experience by analyzing usage data and utilizing it for feature improvements and bug fixes
- Ad Delivery: For banner ad delivery and performance measurement via AdMob
- Data Management: To manage user data such as photos, location information, and settings within the Application
- Service Provision: To ensure proper functioning of Application features such as map display, timeline, and search
3. Disclosure to Third Parties
The Application may disclose information to the following third parties.
3-1. Google LLC
The Application uses Google Analytics 4 and AdMob for ad delivery and usage analytics, and may automatically collect user information. This information is provided to Google for the following purposes.
- Google Analytics 4: Usage analysis, application improvement
- AdMob: Banner ad delivery, ad performance measurement, ad experience improvement

3-2. Other Disclosure Cases
The Provider may disclose information to third parties in response to legal requirements or for fraud investigation, security protection, ensuring user safety, etc. However, user-provided information such as photo data, location information, tags, and categories is not stored in the cloud and is stored only on the device. This information is not disclosed to third parties.
4. Data Storage Location and Retention Period
4-1. Storage Location
User data such as photo data, location information, application settings, tags/categories, and GPX routes are stored exclusively on the device's local storage. This data is not uploaded to cloud servers.
4-2. Retention Period
User data is stored on the device while the user is using the Application and while the Application is installed on the device. When the user uninstalls the Application, all stored user data is also deleted.
5. User Rights
Users have the following rights regarding their personal information.
- View and Edit Information: Users can view and edit photo data, location information, tags/categories, and application settings within the Application
- Delete Information: Users can individually delete photos, routes, and tags/categories within the Application. All data can also be cleared from the application settings screen
- Uninstall Application: All stored data can be deleted by uninstalling the Application
- Deny Location Information: Location information collection is optional. Users can use features other than map functionality even if permission is not granted
- Opt-out of Ads: Users can opt-out of personalized ads through device ad settings or Google's ad settings
6. Data Security
The Provider takes physical, electronic, and procedural security measures to protect the confidentiality of users' personal information. Since user data is stored only on the device and not on cloud servers, the risk of unauthorized access from remote locations is reduced.
7. Children's Privacy
The Application is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If the Provider discovers that it has collected personal information from a child under 13, the Provider will immediately delete such information. Parents and guardians should contact the Provider if their child has used the Application and may have provided personal information.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
This Policy may be changed from time to time. The revised Policy becomes effective when posted on this page. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. We recommend that you regularly review the latest Policy.
